Bellevue College instructor and commercial graphic designer Morgan Olson delivered a one hour workshop about DALL-E, an online image generation program driven by artificial intelligence. When the web-based DALL-E program is sent word prompt such “a bearing riding a bicycle in the style of Norman Rockwell” it generates an image that corresponds to that description.
During the workshop, Olson was sent prompts by participants, and she generated a variety of images based on these word descriptions. Following a consistent theme, these submissions were about ideas for Halloween costumes, as seen in this exhibit.
Olson claims that short word descriptions seem to work best for DALL-E, as well as selecting an art style or specific artist.
