Mixed Reality for safety training

Safety Training VR

We are always thinking about how we can take advantage of new mixed reality technologies to educate people in different areas. For this prototype, we focused on various safety issues that can be avoided if you practice the right way beforehand. But not only that, all these issues need a “real-world component” so people can be guided in VR while performing actions where they are.

For example, to learn the correct way of lifting an object, you will need an object to lift in your environment. Then, once you put the headset on, a robot will give you instructions and demonstrate the best way to do it.

We were able to create this with the help of AI, using a web app called Plask Motion AI that translates the movement of a person recorded in a video into an animated 3D model. We imported this model into Unity to create the UI and add the audio instructions.

For now, this is just an .apk file that needs to be imported into the headset to try it out, but we are looking forward to all the different uses that the combination of AI and new technologies can create.
