W Building

Renovation and expansion of the new W Building began spring 2025. The new facility will be located at the current site of the north wing of the C Building and greenhouse. Originally built in 1968, this space will be transformed into a modern hub for arts programs, including woodworking, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, metalworking, digital media arts, and a makerspace. The building is also planned to meet LEED Silver (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification under the U.S. Green Building Council.

Over spring and summer 2025 the building was partially demolished to structural elements and existing first and second floor facilities will be renovated. The building will also be expanded to include a western addition at the location of the former greenhouse. The single-story northern classroom addition from the 1970s was also demolished.

  • Estimated Total Project Cost: $54 Million
