Program Chair for Earth and Space Sciences

Biography:

Dana has been a full-time instructor at Bellevue College since 2015 and the Earth and Space Sciences program chair since 2019. She teaches Oceanography and Geology courses including Geology 101 (Intro to Physical Geology), Geology 107 (Geological Catastrophes), Oceanography 101 (Intro  to Oceanography) and Oceanography/Environmental Science 110 (Environmental Oceanography).

She has an academic background in isotope geochemistry and oceanography. Her educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Geochemistry from Caltech and a Master’s degree in Oceanography from UCSD/Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

She is passionate about experiential learning and increasing diversity in STEM fields. Before coming to Bellevue College, she worked for environmental non-profits, study abroad programs, and Pacific Science Center.

She is always interested in speaking with current or prospective students, so please contact her with any questions about our courses or future careers in the earth and space sciences!
