"All your people must learn before you can reach for the stars." – Captain James T. Kirk
I decided I wanted to study Astronomy during my last high-school year, but when I was about 5 years old, I remember seeing a “shooting star” (or a meteor actually!), which might have been the seed for my decision of choosing this career. I grew up in the very South of Chile (Patagonia), and when I found out there are many observatories and telescopes in my country, it made so much sense for me to become an Astronomer. My favorite objects are galaxies, since I did research about them both during my Bachelor and Master degrees. I enjoy teaching and doing outreach in Astronomy, but we are lucky to have this planet, so whenever I’m not teaching, I’ll probably be traveling and discovering new places around it!
