Summer quarter moves quickly, and by Week Two many students are balancing classes, work, family commitments, and summer activities. One of the best ways to stay on track is to develop a routine in Canvas by checking announcements regularly, reviewing weekly tasks, taking notes on important instructions and due dates, and reaching out to your instructor whenever you have questions.

If you missed Canvas training last week whether with our Online Workshop or our 60-minute Student Canvas Training sessions offered the first week of every quarter know we’ve got you covered. The Student Canvas Training Online Weekly drop-in sessions held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. is available to you These sessions focus on helping students learn how to use Canvas and complete common tasks.

Students should note that Student Canvas Training is different from Technology Service Desk support, which assists with technical issues, and different from tutoring offered through the Academic Success Center. Each resource serves a unique role in supporting student success.

Another excellent resource is available 24/7 directly within Canvas. Select Help from the global navigation menu, then choose Search the Canvas Guides and open the Canvas LMS Student Guide. Maintained by Instructure, these guides provide step-by-step instructions, videos, and answers to common questions about assignments, grades, discussions, quizzes, announcements, the inbox, calendar, and more.

As the summer sunshine continues, remember that successful Canvas navigation often comes down to simple habits: check announcements, know what needs to be completed each week, take notes, ask questions early, and use the many support resources available. Whether you attend a drop-in session, explore the Canvas Guides, or connect with your instructor, help is always within reach.
