Wrap Up & Recharge with Canvas
You have accomplished a lot this winter. As you wrap things up and get ready for your break, take 20 minutes to save what you created.

You have accomplished a lot this winter. As you wrap things up and get ready for your break, take 20 minutes to save what you created. It’s an easy way to make sure all that effort is available when you might refer to it, and your future self will be glad you did.
Start by downloading the syllabus for each of your courses, then save your graded papers, projects, and assignments into clearly labeled folders that make sense to you. Your syllabi are especially worth keeping long‑term since they outline learning objectives, course policies, and instructor information you may need later when writing a résumé, applying to transfer, seeking internships, or explaining your coursework to an employer. Think of them as receipts for your academic investment: proof of not just what you completed, but what you learned. Once everything is organized, back it up to OneDrive or Google Drive, and jot down any loose ends, so nothing gets lost in the shuffle.
And then pause. You don’t have to keep pushing. You’ve been carrying a lot, and even small tasks add up. This break is your chance to reset. Give yourself permission to rest without the pressure to be productive: sleep in, do something easy or fun, or unplug for a little while. Taking care of yourself isn’t falling behind; it’s what makes it possible to return more grounded and ready for what’s next.
As winter shifts toward spring, Bellevue offers gentle, restorative ways to recharge both outdoors and at home. You might wander the Bellevue Botanical Garden as early blooms appear or take a quiet walk through the wooded paths at Lewis Creek Park and listen to the water. If you want something a bit longer, the Sammamish River Trail offers a flat, scenic route for walking or biking. Even a slow, unhurried morning downtown coffee in hand, no agenda can change your rhythm.
Rest can also be completely at home: sleeping without an alarm for a couple of days, cooking something you enjoy without multitasking, or taking a break from social media to create more mental space. Spend a few minutes journaling about what you’re proud of from this quarter you’ve earned that reflection. And if difficult feelings come up, reaching out to BC Counseling Services is a supported choice.
At least once, try doing something with no goal attached to a puzzle, a sketch, a walk with no destination just to remember what it feels like to exist without pressure. You’ve done a lot. Now let yourself rest.
