Oksana Richter, Ph.D

Biography:

Combining expertise in pedagogy, language education, and social work, Oksana brings together a Ph.D. in the Theory and Methodology of Professional Education with B.A. and M.A. degrees in English and German Language and Literature. Her interdisciplinary background inspires a curriculum that encourages critical reading and writing on social issues. Oksana came to the United States as a Fulbright Scholar hosted by the University of Washington, where she conducted research on multiculturalism. This experience, along with her involvement in other intercultural exchange programs, deepened her commitment to exploring cultural diversity and identity. Before joining Bellevue College in 2019, Oksana taught ESL and Graduate Preparation at the UW. Since then, she has taught English Composition, College Reading and Writing, and Research Writing at Bellevue College. Outside of teaching, she treasures time with her family, especially when gardening, biking, beekeeping, or hiking together.
