Sophie Leung has been an instructor, specializing in developmental English and English composition, at Bellevue College since 2019. Prior to becoming an instructor, she worked as a reading and writing lab tutor. Sophie is a strong advocate for student-centered learning because she believes the voices of learners bring a unique perspective to the classroom environment. In her free time, Sophie enjoys reading, hiking, practicing yoga, or spending time with her family and pets. Sophie holds a BA degree in Psychology and a MA degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of Washington. As a teacher, she hopes to inspire others to appreciate English as a global language.
