Biography:

Sarah J. Ghasedi has taught a wide range of writing and literature courses over the past two decades. Since joining BC’s English faculty in 2024, she has particularly enjoyed designing and teaching project-based learning experiences in research and technical writing. Sarah holds a B.S. in Environmental Science; an M.A. in British and American Literature; and a Ph.D. in English Language and Literature. Her book, Sophia Jex-Blake and the Battle for Women Doctors, builds upon Sarah’s archival discovery that Sophia Jex-Blake secretly worked as a paid journalist for the Scotsman newspaper throughout her 1870s campaign for women doctors in Britain.
