Healthcare Management & Leadership Concentrations

The Healthcare Management & Leadership program consists of two concentrations (or as some like to call them, “tracks”). The concentration you choose depends on your background and is catered to your previous education and experience. Students with a background in business, science, IT, or healthcare administration will follow the General Healthcare Management Concentration. Students with a background in imaging will follow the Radiation & Imaging Management concentration. Learn more below!

General Healthcare Management Concentration

The BAS degree concentration in General Healthcare Management meets the career advancement needs of individuals with business and/or healthcare preparation and experience. The concentration offers a professionally relevant curriculum built around the essentials of leadership. Students in this concentration will be provided with an overview of the business and administrative functions of healthcare, along with an understanding of the essentials of leadership that will enable them to become effective administrators in the healthcare industry. Graduates in this concentration will be qualified as managers and administrators in hospitals, clinics and healthcare centers.

RAIM

Radiation & Imaging Management Concentration

The BAS degree concentration in Radiation and Imaging Management (RAIM) meets the career advancement needs of individuals with radiation and imaging science preparation and experience. The RAIM concentration offers a professionally relevant curriculum built around the essentials of leadership and provide an overview of the business and administrative functions of healthcare. Required core courses provide the technical knowledge and foundational skills critical to your success as a manager or advanced technologist. Courses provide understanding of business concepts, legal issues unique to the radiation and imaging industry, organizational theory, leadership and management, as well as content that develops skills in critical thinking, problem solving, communication, teamwork, and cultural sensitivity. Students can also choose from electives that will help develop advanced technical skills that best match their career goals.

Not yet a radiation or imaging professional?

Our BAS degree concentration in Radiation & Imaging Management are for people who have already graduated from a regionally-accredited college with an associate’s degree in radiologic technology, diagnostic ultrasound, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine, and who hold primary certification in one of those fields. If you’re looking for entry-level training in one of those professions, you will need to begin with that associate’s degree program and earn that certification, before you can apply for the RAIM concentration.
