How-To Content for Faculty

The librarians have created a series of instructions for faculty on incorporating library materials into their classes. Select a section below to access the relevant guides.

The library offers streaming movies, educational films, and documentaries from a number of vendors. Our licenses allow classroom use of the videos. Some of the platforms allow embedding videos into Canvas, which makes the video appear as part of the page, while some only allow a link. You can find a link for any film or video in the library’s catalog. You can also visit each resource directly to search.

Individuals can create their own LinkedIn Learning accounts to track their progress in courses. Instructors can also share videos with students, as well as verify students have completed LinkedIn Learning trainings.

The Bellevue College Library has over 75 databases with thousands of articles available to the BC community. If you’d like to incorporate one of those articles into your class, please check out the instructions for finding and using the permalink. It’s important to not use the browser URL, as that link changes, whereas the permalink does not.

Just like with articles, you can add links to content from the library’s book databases to your class in Canvas. If you’d like to incorporate a book chapter or section into your class, please check out the instructions for finding and using the permalink. It’s important to not use the browser URL, as that link changes, whereas the permalink does not.

The library has created a set of Canvas modules on information literacy topics faculty can import into their courses. Contact a librarian for more details.

Librarians create curated collections of resources for disciplines and courses. Faculty can request that librarians create one for their course.

Librarians create video tutorials on information literacy topics, such as searching specific databases, developing effective searches, and evaluating information.

All enrolled Bellevue College faculty and students have access to King County Library System, KCLS, online resources. The login information is based on a user’s ctcLink ID.
