Open Educational Resources

Open Educational Resources, OER, are a great tool for faculty seeking additional course materials available at no cost to them or students.

What are OER?

OER are:

  • Open: published under an open license to be shared for free or at a low cost
  • Educational: provide an alternative to textbooks or other class or curriculum material
  • Resources: come in a variety of formats meant to be reused and adapted

Faculty interest in OER is often rooted in an interest in providing low or no-cost materials for their students.
