In preparation for the construction, the library prioritized relocating high use collections to areas outside of the construction area to ensure continued access. Materials that remain within the construction area can be obtained within a few days by online request with your Bellevue College library account. Should you have any questions, please contact the circulation department via phone or email. Details on which collections and spaces are impacted and how to access them are within this page.
The majority of journals subscribed to by the library will be unavailable for browsing. Users must contact the circulation department to request issues be pulled for them.
Four popular interior design journals have been moved to the NA general book collection on the second floor. Those titles are:
Roughly 1/3 of the library’s general collection, which is identified in the library search as “Available at Bellevue College Library Book Collection-2nd Floor”, will be in the closed construction zone. These items, identified with a call number beginning with the letters A-HE, while not accessible to patrons, may be retrieved by request to the library’s circulation department.
The most popular sections from this area have been moved to an area on the 2nd floor where users can browse and immediately access the books. Those book call numbers are:
Printed copies of the campus newspaper, the Belletrist literary magazine, and Arnazella are now available in the campus archive. Please inquire with the library circulation department at (425) 564-3139 for assistance.
The library’s collection of children’s books are available by request.
Items belonging to the library reference collection cannot be requested online. Users wishing to view items in this collection should call circulation at (425) 564-2252 to request an item be pulled for them to view in the library.
Bellevue College users may request items by locating a desired item in the library’s collection through the library search, logging into their BC library account with their campus NET ID, and clicking the “Request” link. The Request link is located within the item record area “Find in Library.”

The most popular DVDs are available on shelving near the elevator on the first floor of the library. Some remain unavailable to browse.
If you are seeking a DVD and do not find it available in those shelves, email or call the Circulation Department to have the DVD pulled and made available to you within a few days.
The Equity Reads: Building Community through Literature and Discussion collection consists of sets of eight books for self-paced book clubs. As a partnership the BC Library and the Office of Community Care and Institutional Transformation, this collection offers equity and diversity focused books for use by groups on campus to explore different topics and areas related to diverse voices, lived experiences, and systemic inequities. The goal of these book clubs is to create conversation, and action, to help Bellevue College continue along its goal of being an equitable and supportive environment for our entire campus community.
This collection can now be found on a cart in between the eLearning and XR lab entrances.
Titles previously available in the ESL, ESL Fiction, and ESL Readers section on the first floor have been moved to the second floor. They are located in the central section of shelves near the stairs. Please refer to the signage on the side of the shelves or inquire at the desk in order to locate these items.
The graphic novels can now be found on shelving and carts near the Tech Hub Desk and printing room.
The library’s popular zine collection is still available for browsing, borrowing, and classroom instruction. The collection has moved to shelving near the Tech Hub desk, closest to the copy machine room.

They are now located in the central section of the second floor bookshelves near the stairs. The library’s private study rooms will be unavailable during construction. We encourage you to explore the available shared spaces available in the library. For those requiring quiet, a silent zone is available on the second floor behind the end of the general collection book shelves.
Neurodiversity Navigators has assembled a list of popular study spaces across campus.
The Collaboratory will be unavailable for events or general study space during construction. Employees are encouraged to explore alternative campus spaces through 25Live.
The library’s computer classroom will be unavailable for library instruction or faculty classroom use during construction. Library Instruction will take place inside the primary classroom. During the fall quarter, the library may be able to arrange a campus computer lab for library instruction with sufficient advanced notice. Faculty seeking one-time use of a computer lab for their class are encouraged to speak to their divisional administrative staff.
5 library faculty have moved offices during the construction. They are now located in the former campus print shop area. This area is only available by keycode. Please visit the employee directory to identify how to connect with specific librarians.
