The Bellevue College library’s subscription to Science Direct primarily consists of journal articles published by Elsevier, the makers of Science Direct.

If using JSTOR or ARTstor content for a class, link to the item within JSTOR in order for individuals to be able to access the accessible PDF or descriptive alt text. You can’t use the URL found in the browser bar to link to articles directly. You need to generate a link to ensure students can access the article through Bellevue College’s subscription. The content in ACM Digital Library has historically been PDF files. To meet accessibility standards, ACM has started releasing HTML versions of articles. Newer content is more likely to be available in HTML content. Currently there is a mix of PDF only and PDF plus HTML content in ACM. Some legacy content remains in PDF format only and may not be fully accessible.
If using an ACM Article for a class, upload the PDF file into Canvas and provide a link to the article within ACM. Uploading the PDF to Canvas will enable DocAccess to provide an accessible version of the article. Providing a link to the original record within ACM will ensure copyright compliance. Euromonitor Passport provides data on market share for product offerings, sales, and consumer lifestyles within North America.
Euromonitor Passport does not facilitate easy sharing of content. If you would like to connect students directly with Passport content, it’s advised that you direct students to the resource and the report you wish them to view. Alternatively, you can invite a librarian to instruct your students in using Euromonitor’s Passport.

IBISWorld provides in-depth industry reports for nearly 700 United States industries. Each report contains up to 40 pages regarding key statistics, analysis on the industry, including forecasts, major participants, and more.

Statista is a data aggregator. They present many statistics in the form or charts or graphs displayed through the browser. Presented reports that compile a variety of relevant statistics are available as downloadable PDF files.

Films on Demand is a preset library of educational and documentary films.
When sharing Films on Demand content with students, it’s recommended to link to the video on the Films on Demand platform. That enables students to access the full slate of accessibility features built into the platform.
You cannot use the browser URL to connect students with a Films on Demand video. It’s best to use the tool’s sharing links.

Kanopy’s library largely consists of documentary films.
If sharing a video with students in Kanopy, link to the video rather than embedying it into Canvas. That enables students to take the best advantage of accessibility features. You can use the browser URL to share video links with students. Visiting the link will prompt students to authenticate with their Bellevue College account.

Swank provides streaming access to motion picture films from major studios. Films are added to Bellevue College library’s access individually.
In order for students to engage with the Swank’s full slate of accessibility features, it is recommended that you link to videos on the Swank platform instead of embedding the films in Canvas. It’s best to use Swank’s link sharing tool to get a direct link to films for students to watch individually.

When directing students to eBooks from EBSCOhost, it’s best to link to the eBook within EBSCOhost so students can take advantage of the platform’s accessibility features. We recommend utilizing the tools’ Permalink functionality for stable URLs that enable students to authenticate.

Gale eBooks, formerly known as Gale Virtual Reference, contains subject-specific encyclopedia, handbooks, and guides in eBook format. Examples include the Magill’s Medical Guide, Artificial Intelligence versus Human Intelligence, and the Encyclopedia of Latino culture.
In order to enable full use of the platform’s accessibility features, it’s recommended to link to eBooks within Gale eBooks from Canvas. You cannot use the browser’s URL when viewing the eBook to reliably connect students with the eBook. You need to generate a stable link for the eBook.

O’Reilly contains technical focused eBooks published by O’Reilly, with some supplemental materials in video and other formats.
In order to ensure students can best utilize the platform’s accessibility features, you should link to O’Reilly eBooks directly. You cannot rely upon the URL in the browser to connect students with the eBooks – you need to generate a stable URL that triggers the library’s proxy server to authenticate users prior to providing access to the content.
