Tick, Tick… Boom! is an intimate, autobiographical pop/rock musical from Jonathan Larson, the creator of Rent.
The year is 1990 and Jon is a struggling composer about to turn 30. He is desperately scared that he may never “make it” on Broadway. The pressure to break out or give up only grows as Jon gets an ultimatum from his girlfriend, Susan, a dancer who wants more and a job opportunity from his best friend, Michael, a former actor turned successful Madison Avenue, corporate executive. And Jon’s new musical is about to have a potentially important workshop. What if no one likes it? What if no one comes? The minutes tick by as the ultimatum, job, workshop, and birthday approach. BOOM!

There will be an ASL Interpreted performance of BC Theatre Arts production of tick…tick…BOOM! on Friday, March 10.
This play is appropriate for viewers 12 and over with “Mature language and situations.”
Auditions/Callbacks for tick…tick…Boom! will be November 21 and 22.
Please prepare a 1-2 minute memorized monologue from a play.
1-3 minute song from a musical. Please have your song memorized with sheet music in your key.
