NWXR EDU Network Cycle 3 Project Grants

Overview

The NW XR EDU Project Grants offer $1,000 stipends to higher education faculty, staff, and librarians to explore and apply Extended Reality (XR) technologies in teaching and learning. We welcome innovative proposals that advance XR in education, from creating new XR-based curricula to integrating immersive tools into existing courses. Submit by October 31, 2025

Who Can Apply

  • Higher education faculty, staff, and librarians
  • Past applicants may reapply with updates
  • Previous recipients may apply for a second project after completing their first

Project Scope for Project Proposals

We invite proposals that aren’t confined to building virtual environments. Consideration will also be given to initiatives such as:

  • New XR-based curricula
  • VR/AR integration into existing courses
  • Immersive virtual world experiences
  • Application of XR tools to enhance teaching
  • AI in XR projects
  • Other innovative XR-themed ideas

Focused on higher education institutions, particularly community and technical colleges in the NW XR EDU region, the initiative seeks to broaden access to XR technologies, enhance instructional quality, and prepare students for the growing industry demands in XR fields.
