Three Bulldogs Sign Early With Four-Year Universities

Bellevue College baseball had three players sign National Letters of Intent with NCAA division I universities. Shortstop Sheldon Stober, who earned first team All-North Region honors last year after hitting nearly .400 in league play, signed with Seattle University. Shortstop-catcher Ryan Malone signed with 50-game winner Campbell University in North Carolina while left-handed pitcher, Nick Kiel signed with the University of Missouri. While Stober will get the opportunity to stay close to home, Kiel will trek halfway across the country to pitch in the SEC while Malone will go clear across the country to North Carolina to play for Campbell, which made headlines last year as having the most wins of all division one teams in the country during regular season play. “While we are extremely happy for these three sophomores, the reality is the talent level and depth of what might be the deepest sophomore class ever here at Bellevue could result in over 10 players in our program signing division one scholarships by the time it’s all said and done,” says Head Coach Mark Yoshino. The Bulldogs are ranked #2 in the NWAACC and #7 on the west coast with seven starters returning in lineup and three starters and ace reliever Cody Culp returning on the mound.
