Men’s Basketball Lose at Whatcom; Still Only One Game Out of First

The Bellevue  College men’s basketball team lost to Whatcom on Saturday February 15 by a score of 74-65. Down by seven at halftime, the Bulldogs could not reverse the momentum as Whatcom kept the Bulldogs in check with a nine point margin of victory. The game was a matchup of two of the top players in the league in Bellevue Austin O’Keefe and Whatcom’s Kyle Impero. Neither disappointed as O’Keefe led Bellevue with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Impero threw down 27 points and had 12 rebounds to lead Whatcom. Bellevue is 9-3 and only one game back of first place despite the loss with two league games remaining. As they enter the final week of the regular season, the Bulldogs have clinched a berth to the NWAACC Championships. Bellevue hosts Skagit Valley on Wednesday February 19 at 7:00 PM and Peninsula on Sunday February 23 at 3:00 PM.
