Bellevue College salvaged a 7-3 win yesterday in game four of the opening North Region series against rival Edmonds after dropping three in a row. On Saturday April 8, Bellevue gained momentum in the opening game as Tyler Williams kept Edmonds in check through seven innings with a 4-1 lead. After giving up a leadoff single, Williams was relieved due to pitch count before things went Edmonds’ way with two hit batters and four hits as the Tritons erupted for five runs to take the game 6-4. In game two, Bellevue, emotionally in shock of the first loss, bounced right back putting up three runs in the top of the first before Edmonds would continue their late game momentum in game one by putting up 18 runs in the first four innings to put the game out of reach. Austin Shenton after a cold start to the season, is now one of the hottest hitters in the NWAC and went 4-for-4 with 3 RBI’s and a home run and had six hits on the day. Jack Kennelly had five hits on the day as well.

After dropping two at Triton Field on Saturday, Bellevue lost 9-1 in the opener as Mason Cerrillo hit a solo home run before the 7-3 win led by a complete game effort on the mound by Aki Buckson and a stellar Bulldog defense which turned four double plays which prevented offensive outbursts by Edmonds that were so prevalent in the previous games. Dominic Marinez had two hits and two RBI’s for Bellevue.

The Bulldogs are 1-3 in league and 17-9 overall. They host Olympic College this Friday April 14 at 3:00 p.m. before traveling to Bremerton for games three and four at Legion Field on Saturday April 15 at 1:00 p.m. If weather issues arise, games will be possibly pushed back onto Easter Sunday.
