Men’s Tennis Wins NWAC Championship

Bellevue College Men’s Tennis won the NWAC Championships over the weekend as Edgar Quintero won both No. 1 singles and doubles. He defeated Sean Singco of Spokane 6-3, 6-4 on championship day to win the title. Emahd Khan won the No. 2 singles title 6-0, 6-2. Bence Da Re won No. 3 singles also in straight sets 6-2, 6-3. Hikaru Gushiken won No 4 singles 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.

Shu Chatani and Jacob Sherren took home second place in No. 5 and No. 6 singles respectively. The two would bounce back in No. 3 doubles, winning in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 for the No. 3 doubles title. Khan and Gushiken paired to win No. 2 doubles 6-4, 6-1, while Quintero and Da Re won No. 1 doubles 7-5, 7-5.

The dominance in the men’s championship gave Coach Jason Chapman NWAC Coach of the Year honor. Bellevue has won seven NWAC titles in men’s tennis. Here is a summary including brackets:
