Biography:

Molly Jae Vaughan is a Full Professor of Art in the Fine Art Department. She teaches Drawing I, Drawing II, Advanced Drawing, Painting I and Painting II, and Printmaking I and Printmaking II.

Vaughan holds a BFA from the SVA in New York and an MFA from USF in Tampa. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions including Molly Vaughan: Project 42 at Seattle Art Museum, Molly Vaughan: Project 42 at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, After Boucher: Boren Banner Series at the Frye Museum of Art, Site of Struggle at The Block Museum of Fine Art, Molly Vaughan: Transition as Performance, Life as Resistance at Seattle University Hedreen Gallery, and From Her Body She Created at James Harris Gallery in Dallas, TX.

Vaughan’s work has been included in The AdvocateNew American Paintings, Texte Ur Kunst Reviews, The Guardian,and Transgender Studies Quarterly. Her work is included in the collections of Seattle Art Museum, Frye Museum of Art, the Block Museum, The Henry Art Gallery, and the Stanley Museum of Art.

Vaughan represented Washington State at the National Museum of Women in the Arts for the exhibition New Worlds – Women to Watch in 2024.
