Chad is the faculty head of Photography and the Art Department Chair.
A native to the west by birth and habit, Chad’s work reflects an exploration in the outdoors, searching for what is true of our ineffable interests and relationships with nature.
As a method of working, he travels the blank and seemingly isotropic spaces found on maps; spaces often on the outskirts of densely populated areas. Using collections in the form of objects, images and recordings, the work describes the physical and experiential attributes of where one is.
Chad received his BFA in Photography from the University of New Mexico and his MFA in Photography from Arizona State University.
