Sarah Jones

Biography:

Sarah Jones (b. Utah) is an artist primarily working in installation, at the intersections of climate, gender, race and speculative futures. Her work examines loss, grief and what is hard to see. The work is elegiac, pointing to what has been or will be lost due to ecological collapse, while engaging in palliative and speculative re-worlding. Jones received her BFA from the University of Utah and MFA from School of Visual Art in NYC. Jones has shown at the Sun Valley Museum of Art, Holter Museum, Lecher Arts Center, Mesa Art Center, Bitters Co., Perry and Carlson Gallery and Curtis Steiner Gallery. She has been awarded multiple residencies including Santa Fe Art Institute, Ucross Foundation, Haystack, Bloedel Reserve, Centrum and Oak Spring Garden.  Jones is a recipient of the Vermont Studio Center Fellowship, Artist Trust Gap Grant, and Oak Springs Garden Foundation Artist Grant.
