Bulldogs Run to 12-0 With Win Over Highline

After a sluggish start, Bellevue Community College pulled away with a 79-67 win over Highline College. Trailing throughout most of the first half, the Bulldogs played for one last shot successfully as time expired in the first half to knot the game at 39. The Bulldogs came out sharper in the second half before pulling away during the final few minutes of the game. The game also marked the highly-anticipated return of Bryan Ferguson and Luke Landdeck who were both coming off injuries. Ferguson, who sat out last year and was nursing an injury all fall, scored seven points in his first game in two years. The ex-KingCo 3A standout Landdeck, who returned from a hand that was broken during pre-season practice, had six points in limited duty. Cleveland HS grad Sexton Brown led the way with 22 points while returning sophomore Troy Johnson chipped in 14. The Bulldogs take their undefeated 12-0 record into league play. They travel to Skagit on Wednesday January 5 for their league opener. Tipoff is at 7:30 PM in Mount Vernon. Their next home game is Saturday January 8 vs. Olympic.
