Bellevue Announces Hiring of New Assistant Softball Coach

Head Coach Leah Francis announces the hiring of a new assistant softball coach, former BCC softball player, Meghan Johnson.

Coach Johnson joins the BCC softball staff for her first season. Coach Johnson returns to her alma matter after coaching Franklin High school for one season in 2008.  As Head Coach at Franklin HS, Meghan helped coach all aspects of the game and will continue to help with all phases as BCC.

Prior to coaching at Franklin HS, Meghan was a member of the BCC softball program in 2006 and 2007.  During her time at BCC, Meghan was a two-year starting catcher and a first team all-league selection in 2006.  Meghan played an integral part of the softball teams that won a division title in 2006 and placed second in the league in 2007.  A team leader as a player, Meghan’s understanding of the BCC softball program will provide a tremendous benefit in her transition onto the BCC softball staff.

“I am excited to have Meghan return to the BCC softball program,” said Head Coach Leah Francis.  “Meghan was a very solid player during her two years at BCC and was a strong leader both on and off the field.  Her knowledge of our school, softball program and her ability to teach the game make her a great addition to the coaching staff.  She has a year of head coaching experience under her belt and I know she will continue to grow during her time at BCC.  I am confident that she can help the BCC softball program continue to move forward.”
