Bellevue’s bats came alive for 30 runs this past Saturday defeating the West Coast Baseball Academy of Canada by scores of 11-1 and 19-2. In game one Dan Johansen doubled and tripled in runs in the first two innings as the Bulldogs put up 9 runs early. Brian Buckham, Jeff Bethke, Cody Goodfellow, and Ian Parmley all chipped in towards a stellar pitching performance. In game two, Bellevue’s middle of the order duo of Bryan Barnes and Lucas Shaw accounted for 6 hits and 9 runs batted in as Bellevue cruised to an easy victory. Ian McKay added 3 hits as well. Barnes hit a single, triple, and home run and was a double away from hitting for the cycle. However, he was hit by a pitch in his final at-bat. The Bulldogs will travel to Longview to face fourth-ranked Lower Columbia in another non-league game this Wednesday at 6:30 before coming home to square off against Shoreline for a 4-game series this weekend.
