Stellar Pitching as Bulldogs Go 3-1 Over Weekend

Bellevue’s pitching staff was brilliant this weekend as the Bulldogs took three out of four games against Shoreline. On Saturay, Brian Buckham’s heroic efforts on the mound was wasted as the Bulldog bats were silenced in a 2-1 extra-inning loss. Kaylor Hasbargen delivered a two-out single up the middle to score Ian Parmley in the bottom of the seventh inning to send the game into extra innings. The Dolphins put up a run in the top of the night as Bellevue went scoreless to lose 2-1. In game two, Jay Taylor pitched seven innings and cruised to an easy 10-4 victory. Hunter Beaty had five RBI’s while Dan Johansen had three hits to lead Bellevue. On Sunday, TJ Parthemer earned his first college victory by striking out ten Shoreline hitters in a 9-2 win. Parthemer checked Shoreline on only three hits. Down 1-0, the Bulldogs put up 9 runs in two innings, highlighted by Dan Johansen’s grand slam home run. In game two, Kirk Wetmore put up Bellevue’s fourth quality start on the mound over the weekend, striking out 11 Shoreline hitters and matching Parthemer’s three hits surrendered in a 9-1 win. Lucas Shaw went 4-for-5 while Ryan Shelton and Cody Edwards collected three hits apiece. Bellevue travels to Aberdeen to play Grays Harbor in a non-league game this Tuesday before a 4-game series with Olympic College this weekend.
