Bellevue College Pitcher to Play at Ivy League School Next Year

Left-hander TJ Parthemer has committed to play at Cornell University next year. Parthemer is the lone returner from the starting rotation of last year’s NWAACC champion squad. It is speculated that Parthemer is the first NWAACC baseball player to play at an Ivy League school. To make the accomplishment even more prestigious, Parthemer was accepted into the rigorous school of business at Cornell. “TJ’s accolades in the classroom and on the mound have finally paid off,” says Coach Mark Yoshino. “When we met in the fall, TJ expressed a strong interest in playing at an Ivy League school. It is a rewarding experience for him because he achieved it through his own merits in the classroom and on the field. He didn’t need to be shopped around like a bill of goods; he earned it through his excellence academically and athletically. When you consider how hard it is to get into business schools, it makes it even more special.” Parthemer recently made his return this past weekend throwing one shutout inning against Shoreline. He is currently 1-1 with a 1.29 ERA and leads Bellevue’s staff with a .125 opponent batting average.
