BC Women’s Tennis Takes Two at Home

For the second time in two years, the Bellevue College women’s tennis team challenged and beat a 4-year year school with the April 3 morning wins over Willamette University, hosted by BC at Robinswood. Bellevue’s #1 singles player, Anissa Bryant-Swift, defeated Willamette’s Natalia Agarycheva in sets 6-4, 6-1. Bellevue head coach Jason Chapman said “Agarycheva is one of the top players in the conference, and I am very proud of Anissa’s wins in these matches.” BC singles winners also included #2 Martha Santos, #3 Erica Leong, #4 Jazmin Ahyat, and #6 Camila Martinez-Villa. Doubles matches were won by Bryant-Swift/Leong, Santos/Ahyat, and Amber Portka/Martinez-Villa.

Bellevue women have also won the only league match played to date, by taking Shoreline 9-0 the afternoon of April 3. Three home matches at Robinswood are scheduled for Friday, April 8, when the Bulldogs take on Whitman College at 9 a.m., then Saturday, April 9, BC hosts Treasure Valley beginning at 6 p.m., and, finally, Sunday, April 10, perennial rival Skagit Valley comes to play at 1 p.m.
