BELLEVUE MEN NOTCH TWO NEEDED WINS

In the fourth week of January, the men of the Bellevue College Bulldogs basketball team looked to bounce back from a three-game losing streak with a two-game home stand. Bellevue first took on the Skagit Valley Cardinals on Wednesday, Jan. 23, knowing the Bulldogs needed a win to keep pace in the North Region for a spot in the NWAACC tournament. The Bulldogs played with a sense of urgency from the opening tip, leading by as much as 14 points in the first half. Bellevue relied on their rediscovered defensive efficiency and held Skagit Valley to just 22 points in the first half. The half time break did little to slow the Bulldog defense as they came out even better in the second stanza. The Bulldogs held Skagit Valley to just 26% shooting in the second half and came away with a 77-47 victory.
