The Bellevue College women’s tennis returned from a two-day trek to Oregon with some good results for one player, but not so much for the team. On Saturday, March 16, the Bulldogs played Lewis and Clark College in Portland, and lost 8-1, although #1 player Rixing Xu won 6-4, 6-3, Bellevue’s #4 player Naline Long gave it a great fight but lost in three sets. On Sunday, March 17, Bellevue was in Salem and played Willamette University, losing 7-2. Once again. #1 player Xu won 7-5, 7-5, and #3 player Sadie Dedon won in three sets 1-6, 6-3, and 10-4 in super-tiebreaker. Bellevue’s #6 Lorraine Eng almost pulled off a win losing in three tough sets. Finally, in the second match on Sunday the Bulldogs went up against George Fox University and lost 8-1, with the bright spot again being provided by Xu who won her third match of the weekend 6-4, 6-0. Next up, on Saturday, March 30, the Bulldogs travel to Tacoma to play the University of Puget Sound at 11 a.m.
