Bellevue Women’s Basketball Splits Two Close Games At Skagit and Peninsula

The Bulldogs women’s basketball team lost their first league game of the year on Wednesday January 22, losing 62-59 on the road to Skagit Valley before bouncing back with a tough road win at Peninsula 56-54 on Saturday January 25. In the Skagit Valley game, the contest remained close the entire way as Skagit held a three point lead at halftime and maintained it through the end of regulation play. Tayler Flemming was on fire from three-point land, going 6-for-10 in three-point field goals and finished with 20 points. Hunter Hopkins turned in a solid effort with 12 points and also 9 rebounds for the Bulldogs.

In the two-point win over Peninsula, Bellevue led by ten at halftime and held on for the win. Bellevue had 23 points off Peninsula turnovers. Hopkins led Bellevue with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Bellevue is now tied with Whatcom at 6-1 in league play as they enter the second half of North Region competition.
