BC Softball Off to Bumpy 9-6 Start

After successfully sweeping the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma on March 5 by scores of 3-1 and 7-3, the Bulldogs ran directly into the buzz saw that is comprised of the NWAACC South Region schools including perennial powerhouses Clackamas and Mount Hood. Appearing at the Inter-Regional Tourney held in Portland, OR, the weekend of March 21-22, the Bulldogs had a tough weekend facing the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the NWAACC.

On Friday, March 21, the Dawgs dropped two games losing to Clackamas and Southwest Oregon. Then, Saturday, Bellevue held the lead over #1 ranked Mt. Hood through six innings before the Saints had two clutch hits to rally for a 5-2 win. The Dawgs rebounded to win the final game of the weekend 4-1 over Clark.
The Bulldogs (now 9-6) in the midst of their toughest pre-season schedule ever, finish non-league play this Wednesday, March 25, in their first home game of the year hosting Centralia in a doubleheader with the first game scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start.
