Bellevue Softball Goes 2-2 at Crossover Tourney

The Bellevue College Bulldogs softball team won one and lost one on each day of the NWAACC Crossover Tournament this past weekend April 13-14 in Mount Vernon, WA. On Saturday, the Bulldogs opened up with a 14-6 win over Blue Mountain pounding out 14 runs on 15 hits.  In game two, the ‘Dawgs fell behind early and could not catch up, despite back-to-back homers by Lauren Burchak and Brooke Bonsen in the 5th inning, losing 8-2 to Treasure Valley.

On Sunday the Dawgs again fell behind early, ultimately losing to Chemeketa 12-2.  They rebounded to win the last game of the weekend, in another offensive outburst, beating Clark 10-9. Overall on the weekend, Lauren Burchak was on fire offensively, smashing 5 home runs with 10 RBI’s, while going 11-for-12 at the plate.

Up next, the Bulldogs travel to Douglas on Friday and Skagit Valley on Saturday before returning home for a rain make-up game against Everett at 4pm on Tuesday April 22.
