Kamiak HS grads Sara Pulaski and Danielle Smullin, playing in front of her hometown crowd, led Bellevue to a difficult road win at Edmonds, 26-24, 25-12, 20-25, 25-21, 15-8 that took over two hours to complete. The match was considered somewhat of a scare for the Bulldogs, as they entered with a 17-10 / 9-2 record as compared to Edmonds at 2-26 / 1-10. While it marked the second time in recent play that Bellevue has labored on the road, it also showed the Bulldogs’ tenacity when it counts as they won the decisive fifth set by a commanding margin. Libero Pulaski had 20 digs and Smullin had 44 assists and nine digs. Sophomore Kayley Watkins had 17 kills followed by 10 by Loretta Forrest. Newcomer Angela Jones also had 10 kills which was a welcome addition as the Bulldogs played without sophomore Kelcie Russell who is out with foot injury. Bellevue hosts Everett in their final league match of the year at home on Tuesday November 11 at 7:00 PM vs. Everett. The Bulldogs have clinched a berth in the NWAC Championships the following week at the Tacoma Convention Center.
