Bellevue College women’s basketball defeated visiting Shoreline in both teams’ league opener 75-22. The lopsided game had the tone set early, as BC jumped out to a 34-9 first half lead.  Rotating only seven players throughout the game,  the Bulldogs were bolstered by the return of their standout from last season, Hunter Hopkins, and a newcomer / transfer Diondra Alexander. Hopkins, who has been out for over two weeks nursing a back injury, had seven points, and also had 10 rebounds, three steals, and three assists. Alexander finished with 12 points and seven rebounds. Shelby Kassuba led BC in both scoring and rebounds with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Mikalya Jones scored 13 while Eboney Jackson had 12 to aid to the balanced attack by Bellevue. The Bulldogs’ next game is Wednesday January 14 at 5PM at Olympic.
