Freshman Shelby Kassuba had 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead Bellevue over Skagit Valley in a battle of unbeatens at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion by a score of 58-53. Kassuba was 7-for-13 from the field and 3-for-4 from the free throw line and had five rebounds on both the offensive and defensive end in a well-balanced effort as the Bulldogs remain undefeated at 2-0 in league play. Skagit, an annual contender for the region championship, stayed close the entire game, down by only three at halftime. Mikayla Jones was 3-for-5 from three point range, had 17 points, and also led Bellevue with four steals and six assists, playing the entire 40 minutes in the game.
