Kiko Magana Resigns as BC Women’s Soccer Coach; BC Assistant Dan Lock Named Head Coach

Kiko Magana, Bellevue’s women’s soccer coach, has resigned. Magana has accepted a job offer at Lees-McRae College; an NCAA division II program in North Carolina. The new position will allow Magana to coach at his alma mater and also enables him to be near more immediate family. Dan Lock, one of Magana’s assistants for BC women’s soccer, has been named Head Coach by Athletic Director Bill O’Connor. Magana’s other assistant from last season, Evan Gaul, will remain on staff as an assistant/goalkeepers coach. Gaul will also serve in the same capacity for the BC men’s soccer program.

“While it is with great sadness that Kiko is leaving Bellevue, I am very proud of what he did with the culture of our women’s soccer program. Kiko had a strong connection with his student-athletes, fielded competitive teams, was very active in the recruitment of quality student-athletes, and elevated the academic standards within the program. Without a doubt, BC women’s soccer made great strides under him,” says O’Connor.

“Dan comes in with a strong background in soccer and was on staff last year. Both he and Evan are very comfortable with this transition as both were on staff last year. With the recruitment of the squad for this fall already completed, the program should continue right where it left off,” says O’Connor.
