Head Coach Mel Stubblefield has his Bellevue College women’s basketball team ready for league play as the Bulldogs won easily at home last night against Centralia College by a score of 87-69. Centralia, the West Region’s top team so far this season, fell behind early in the first half and could not generate any momentum as four Bulldogs scored in double figures. The game was Bellevue’s final pre-season game before league play opens up, and was against yet another top team in the NWAC. The competitive pre-season schedule along with a 10-3 record in those games, have Bellevue pegged as one of the top teams in the NWAC heading into league play.

Shelby Kassuba led BC with 23 points and 10 rebounds. The sophomore was 11-for-20 in shooting. Freshman Erin Hamilton had another consistent outing, scoring 16 points on 7-for-9 shooting and had 8 rebounds. Sophomore Savannah Reid, who was forced to sit out the 20-14-15 season with an injury, had a breakout game with 15 points and 5 assists and 3 steals. Mikayla Jones added 14 points.

Bellevue travels to Shoreline this Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. tipoff to open up North Region play.
