In a reversal of trends from the previous two games, Bellevue College men’s basketball could not generate any offense in the second half as the Bulldogs lost their league opener on the road at Shoreline by a score of 75-68. Previously, the Bulldogs had established a knack for getting hot in the second half, posting big wins over Yakima Valley and Highline in similar fashion, coming from behind. On Saturday, after leading by two at halftime 39-37, Bellevue came out in the second half and shot only 35% from the field after shooting 50% in the first half.  Foul trouble in the second half also hurt Bellevue, as Shoreline capitalized sinking 13-of-16 from the free throw line in the second half to preserve the win.

Freshman Jordan Muir-Kueng, who grew up playing at nearby Shorewood HS, led BC with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. Brian Zehr also had an excellent all-around game, contributing 17 points and led the ‘dogs with 7 rebounds as well.

Bellevue is 0-1 in league and 9-7 overall. They host Olympic College this Wednesday January 13 at 7:00 p.m.
