Women’s Basketball Cruises in Win At Whatcom

BC women’s basketball came alive after being stunned in the first quarter, charging back to win a comfortable 90-65 decision. Bellevue was down 21-14 after the first quarter then answered with 76 points in the next three quarters.

Shelby Kassuba continued her recent dominant play with a 32 point effort. The sophomore also pulled down 12 rebounds and was 15 for 23 from the field. Montana Hagstrom played all 40 minutes and netted 21 points and led Bellevue with 10 assists. Hagstrom was hot from the perimeter, draining 4-of-6 from three point range.

The win, coupled with a key win by Peninsula over Skagit Valley last night, puts Bellevue into a three-way tie for first place in the North Region at 5-1. The ‘dogs are now 15-4 overall. The women host Everett this Saturday January 30 at 4:00 p.m. The game will be telecast on cable channel 28.
