Bellevue College softball competed well against three tough South Region teams, going 1-2 at the NWAC Intra-Region Tourney. Originally slated for Delta Park in Portland, OR, all games were moved to alternate fields due to field condition. On Friday March 18, Bellevue traveled to West Linn HS to take on SW Oregon, losing 8-2. The Bulldogs, who have been on an offensive rampage all pre-season, ran into SW Oregon’s ace Lauren Spencer, who held BC to only 5 hits. Tessani Dixon hit her seventh home run of the year to lead Bellevue.

On Saturday March 19, Bellevue played two powerhouse clubs from Oregon in Mount Hood and Clackamas in Vancouver, WA at the VGSA complex. Pitcher Ciera Lockwood came up big in the circle for Bellevue, holding Mount Hood to two hits in the complete game shutout win 5-1. Cierra Barkis led Bellevue with three hits and three RBI’s. Rachel Delamare also had three hits. BC gradually put the game away scoring in the top of the 5th, 6th, and 7th innings for the win. Bellevue dropped game two, 4-2. A decisive 6th inning allowed the Cougars to earn the win, as they scratched off runs off starter Payton Gibbs and Lockwood, who relieved Gibbs in the critical inning. Alex Boyd had two hits and drove in both Bellevue runs to lead the Bulldogs.

Bellevue is now 10-3 on the year and hosts Chemeketa (OR) this Saturday March 26 at 2:00 p.m.
