Bellevue College softball, who was recently ranked #1 in the NWAC Coaches’ Poll, won two games with ease this weekend over visiting Everett CC. On Saturday April 23, Bellevue won by scores of 9-0 in the opener and 8-3 in game two of the doubleheader against their North Region rivals.

In game one, Bellevue wasted no time by putting up 5 runs in the first inning. The game only lasted 4 1/2 innings due to the 8-run mercy rule. Sophomore ace Ciera Lockwood went the distance throwing a shutout and allowing only four Everett hits. Cassidy Mast was 2-for-2 with 3 RBI’s. Payton Gibbs also had 3 RBI’s. The two both belted home runs to lead Bellevue’s offense.

Game two was a bit more of a challenge as Bellevue’s bats were silent for most of the game until the final few innings. Down 2-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning, Bellevue plated three runs and tacked on another five in the sixth to put the game away. Brianna Attwood was the offensive star of the game, going 2-for-3 with a double, home run, and 3 RBI. Her three-run blast came in the sixth scoring Alex Boyd and Rayne Sylvester.

Bellevue is now 7-1 in league and 26-5 overall. Their next game is on the road on April 30 at Edmonds. The doubleheader begins at 12:00 p.m.
