Women’s Golf Finishes Second at Centralia League Match; Wins NWAC League Title

Bellevue College’s women’s golf team finished second overall at the Centralia League Match held Sunday April 24-Monday April 25 at Riverside GC in Chehalis. The Bulldogs finished 5 shots behind North Idaho College. Bellevue was hot on day one, leading the tourney after shooting a team total of 246. The ‘dogs shot 250 on day two, but fell victim to North Idaho, who’s golfers were on fire on Monday, shooting a team total of 234. The 23 stroke difference between North Idaho’s day one and day two scores catapulted the Cardinals to first place.

Meg McMullen went low on day one, shooting 74. She shot 88 on day two and finished tied for second overall in the individual portion with teammate Sadie Tallman who shot 85-77. The strong second day by Tallman was Bellevue’s low score on day two. Kendra Meeker shot 87-85.

With the Centralia match being the final NWAC league-counting match, Bellevue finished in first place in team standings with 43 points. North Idaho’s showings recently moved them up to second place in league standings at 40 points.

The Bulldogs’ final match will the NWAC Championship Tourney; a two-day event held at Walla Walla Country Club and Veterans Memorial GC in Walla Walla on May 15-16.
