Bellevue College softball took home the North Region title in style yesterday with a sweep over visiting Shoreline by scores of 15-6 and 7-1. The wins were the final home games for the sophomores, as the Bulldogs’ (18-2 league, 37-6 overall) top four hitters in the lineup each had three hits apiece. Tessani Dixon had 6 RBI’s in the game including two home runs. Alex Boyd had a home run and four RBI’s. The transfer from Oregon State raised her batting average to .412. Cassidy Mast had three hits and also led BC with four runs scored, and the offensive threat from last week, Cierra Barkis and Rachel Delamare, each had three hits as well.

In game two, Dixon continued here sophomore show with another home run. She finished regular season play with 18 home runs and 65 RBI’s. Delamare went 3-for-4 and hit .578 in regular season play. Mast, another sophomore who exited in style, had three more hits and popped out a home run as well. Payton Gibbs went the distance fanning nine for the win.

Bellevue begins play at the NWAC Championships May 20-23 at Owens Sports Complex at Delta Park in Portland, OR. The Bulldogs will likely be the #1 seed. Details can be found at nwacsports.org.
