co-North Region champion Bellevue College baseball had a total of seven players earn all-North Region honors. Dominic DeMiero was a unanimous selection as first team pitcher. The left-hander threw shutouts against four of the six teams he faced in league play and allowed only five total runs in 47 innings pitched in league play. Austin Pinorini, another freshman, was named first team catcher. The freshman phenom from Cascade HS hit .375 in league play and had 19 RBI’s. He struck out only three times in 88 plate appearances. Shortstop Jordan LaFave hit .325 and was selected by his opponent coaches for several of his highlight plays at shortstop. His defensive skills also earned him Gold Glove team honors. He was the only Bulldog to make the Gold Glove team. Joe Wainhouse was named first team designated hitter. The 6′ 7″ power hitter had several key hits including home runs in the majority of weekend series. He led the NWAC with 11 home runs and was near the top in RBI’s as well. The sophomore has recently committed to play at the University of Washington.

Left-handed pitcher Cody Anderson made second team pitcher. Although the southpaw led the NWAC in strikeouts with 99, the pitcher fell victim to a win-loss record that did not match his first team counterparts. Danny Torlai was named second team utility. His power bat and emergence as a starting pitcher proved his versatility for Bellevue. Torlai’s streak of 14 consecutive scoreless innings to close out league games played a large part in his selection to the team.  Dylan Vchulek, who only saw action against Douglas and Olympic this year in league play due to an injury, was still voted onto second team. Vchulek is the reigning NWAC batting champ hitting nearly .400 last year. In his two weekend series he was healthy, Vchulek was hitting .400. Because of his ability to show he could sustain what he established last year, the coaches voted him in even though he had limited plate appearances.
