Women’s Basketball Starts Season With Road Win at Highline

With only two returners back from last year’s phenomenal club, the Bellevue College women’s basketball team showed no sign of 2017 being a rebuilding year as the Bulldogs easily handled local rival Highline College with a 64-48 win on the road on Saturday November 19.

Bellevue raced out to a 19-8 first quarter lead and never looked back, leading 36-22 at halftime. A trio of newcomer freshmen led BC as Sierra Cole and Brenda Akoto scored 13 points apiece. Duaneah Wheeler added 12. Lone returning starter Erin Hamilton did her usual thing, contributing in every facet of the game by scoring six points, and had six rebounds, five assists, and four steals. The sophomore from Woodinville led the ‘dogs with 32 minutes on the court.

Bellevue doesn’t play until December 2 in the Bulldog classic at home. Here is a link with bracket details.
