
Bellevue College men’s basketball gutted out a tough win over visiting Edmonds by a score of 85-76 tonight at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion. Up by only two at halftime, Bellevue gradually stretched the lead on hot shooting as the team hit a lights out 56% from the field. The Bulldogs not only outshot Edmonds in the second half, but out-muscled them on the boards as well, outrebounding the Tritons 46-34.
Taylor Freeman led the way for BC with 23 points. Trey Nelson was Bellevue’s overall top contributor. He netted 16 points on 8-for-15 shooting, but also led BC with 10 rebounds, 4 steals, and 5 assists. Jaden Vollmen was 7-for-10 from the field; good enough for 14 points.
Bellevue is now 5-3 in league and 15-8 overall. The ‘dogs have a big game this Saturday night on the road at Skagit Valley. Bellevue is currently in a tie for second place in the North Region, one game behind Peninsula at 6-2. Bellevue is looking to avenge an 89-76 loss to Skagit Valley at home on January 14 during the first round of league play.
