Bellevue’s 66-58 loss alone last night at Everett was bad enough news. To make things even tougher is the fact that the loss enabled Everett to sneak up in the standings to now create a four-way logjam at the top as compared to the three-way tie for first scenario that was in place just a few days ago. The Bulldogs, now 7-3 in league along with Everett, are one game back of Peninsula and Skagit Valley who are both 8-2 in league.  The Bulldogs host Peninsula this Sunday February 19 at 1:00 p.m. in a key game.

In last night’s loss, Bellevue fell behind early 16-10 before battling back to make it a 27-25 Everett lead at halftime. Bellevue could not flip the momentum any further though in the second half as Everett pulled away in the fourth quarter. Sloppy ball-handling also was a contributing factor as BC had 21 turnovers in the game. Workhorse sophomore Erin Hamilton played all 40 minutes, and led Bellevue with 16 points and also pulled down 9 rebounds (6 were offensive). Brenda Akoto had 14 points and led Bellevue underneath with 10 rebounds.
